______________________________________________________________________
The meeting began at 7:00 PM
First up was Noel Sinozich on the proposed town website. Noel stated that the cost would be about $200 for the year. Noel distributed a mock up of what the page would look like. He would do it on Wordpress at a relative low cost. If the Board approves he will proceed to set it up. Shaun made a motion to have Noel proceed. Shannon seconded the motion. Noel thanked the Board and left at 7:08.
Next Keith stated he was here to update the Board on a conversation he had with Mike Wichrowski from Fish & Wildlife. The state would like a letter of understanding that if the Burr Pond Fishing Access were to be included in the fire district, it will be understood that the town or the fire district would never try to tax them. Keith has drafted the letter to the Commissioner Jason Batchelder of the department of Fish and Wildlife regarding the proposed Fire District (see attached). Keith stated that including the Burr Pond Fishing Access in the District would solve the problem of being contiguous without needing to include the three properties without lake frontage. Shaun signed the letter to the Commissioner of Fish & Wildlife.
Next Shaun asked if we still need to do anything about the class 4 road issue since Jonathan has his pole barn so the need to change anything is cancelled out. Discussion on the matter followed. No action taken.
Steven L. stated that the Planning Commission decided to go with the Town of Brandon’s fine schedule except to strike the last two bullet points. Steve L. also stated that the PC also chose to award ReGrowth for the Municipal Planning Grant and they are recommending the Selectboard also choose ReGrowth. Discussion followed. Shaun signed the ReGrowth contract.
Steve S. stated that he received the salt contract and that the cost went up $10 per ton. They estimate we use 450 tons per year so that line item will need to be raised $4500. Steve will sign and return.
Shaun asked if any of the public in attendance wanted to speak.
Colleen Wright stated she was happy with the turnout of her harvest festival and estimated there were 50 or 60 people over the course of the day. The barricades and the signs were rude and she guessed she wasn’t in the group that Harvey allows to use the driveway. Ted Russell stated he also didn’t approve of blocking off the driveway.
Eli stated they had raised a total of $157,000 with the grants and from the fundraiser day. Shaun said it was a good event and very successful day. Eli said that they still need another $133,000 to complete the first phase of the Meeting House project
The Orders and the monthly budget comparison were distributed for examination and signatures.
Tom stated he was still trying to purchase some land from Harvey. David Crane asked if that would go to a town vote? Tom said he might be holding the bag if it were to get voted down but he said that would be okay.
Shaun made a motion to accept the minutes of September 8th, 2025 as submitted. Tom seconded the motion and the minutes were accepted.
Shaun made a motion to adjourn at 8:01. Tom seconded the motion and the meeting adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Steve Sgorbati
